Offers usually leave the building as a PDF and come back as an email that says "can we talk about the car allowance". This turns the offer into a page the candidate can actually use: they open a private link, move the parts of the package you allow them to move, watch the net pay and the cost to company change, and accept or decline on the spot.
Packages and benefits
- โ A benefit is described once: a fixed amount, a percentage of gross, or a choice from a list of options you maintain
- โ Each benefit says whether it is taxable, whether it counts in cost to company, whether the figure is monthly or yearly, and what extra it costs the employer
- โ A package pulls benefits together with their starting values, and decides which ones the candidate may move and between what limits
- โ Offers copy the package, so tightening a package next month never changes an offer already with a candidate
Gross to net that works anywhere
- โ The calculation is a rule set: an ordered list of rules, each with a condition and an amount
- โ Rules read named values such as taxable_gross, and each other, so a second tax band can be written on top of the first
- โ Expressions are read by this module's own evaluator, never by Python's eval, so an HR user writing a tax band cannot reach the database
- โ A rule that cannot be worked out is reported on the offer and treated as zero, rather than breaking the page a candidate is looking at
The candidate's page
- โ A private link with a long random token, no login and no account
- โ Plain server-rendered HTML and ordinary form posts, so it works with no JavaScript and on any device
- โ Every figure is recomputed on the server, so a hand-edited form cannot buy a bigger car
- โ Accepting stamps the time and the address it came from, and freezes the figures that were agreed
- โ Declining asks why, and records the answer against the offer

- โ Offer references from a sequence, kanban, calendar of deadlines, pivot and a printable offer letter
- โ A scheduled action closes offers whose date has passed
- โ An accepted offer becomes an employee through a short wizard
- โ Two security groups, company record rules on every model, and the link can be replaced if it is forwarded by mistake
