A touch screen an operator can actually use with a glove on, backed by a server that does not trust it. Every rule lives in Python. The browser only draws buttons.
The terminal
- โ One operator logs in at one work centre and gets a session. Two operators cannot open the same machine at once, because that would count the same minutes twice
- โ Big touch targets, one screen per machine, work orders on the left and the job on the right
- โ Start, pause, resume, record what came off the machine, answer the quality checks, finish
- โ A session left running overnight is closed by a scheduled action rather than blocking the next shift
Stops that mean something
- โ Pause reasons are ordinary records you configure: rename them, add your own, switch off the ones you do not use
- โ Each reason belongs to a loss category, so its minutes land in the right part of OEE instead of disappearing
- โ A reason can demand a written explanation, and a blocking reason stops the machine until it is cleared
- โ Every pause writes a real mrp.workcenter.productivity record, so the figures Odoo already keeps stay correct
Quality checks per operation
- โ Define checks once against a routing operation. Every work order for that operation gets its own copy to answer
- โ Three kinds: pass or fail, a measure compared against a tolerance range, or free text such as a batch number
- โ A blocking check has to be answered, and answered without a failure, before the operation can be finished. The refusal names what is still open
- โ The rule that decides pass or fail runs on the server, so the touch screen cannot talk it into accepting a part that is out of tolerance
- โ A shop floor manager can release an operation with checks still open, and the override is written to the log rather than hidden
Production that cannot be counted twice
- โ A tablet on a factory floor loses its network and the browser retries. The terminal generates a uuid before it sends anything and keeps sending the same one until the server answers
- โ Every request token is stored with a unique database index. A token that has already been recorded is a replay: the stored answer is handed back and not one quantity, duration or state is touched
- โ The retry counter is visible in the analysis, so a shift with a bad network is obvious instead of silently doubling its output
OEE worked out, not guessed
- โ Availability, performance and quality per work centre for any period, each figure kept on the record so a number anybody disagrees with can be taken apart
- โ Time logs are clipped to the period, so a night shift that crosses midnight is not counted twice in a daily report
- โ Three honest ways to set planned time: what the terminal logged, the whole period, or a figure you type
- โ Performance is capped at 100 percent, with the uncapped figure kept as well, because a machine that beats its ideal cycle time means the cycle time is wrong
Reporting
- โ A printable shift report listing everything a session recorded, in order
- โ Pivot and graph views on OEE and on terminal events
- โ Stops by reason, by machine, by day
- โ Requires nothing but Manufacturing.
