Hire Odoo Developers in Jordan

A dedicated developer is a capacity decision. It works when you have a backlog and someone to own it, and it fails when neither is true.

What changes the cost of hiring an Odoo developer in Jordan

The delivery method is the same everywhere. What moves the number is what this market demands of the system, and how much of that Odoo already covers.

E-invoicing

Jordan runs JoFotara, the National Electronic Invoicing System (ู†ุธุงู… ุงู„ููˆุชุฑุฉ ุงู„ูˆุทู†ูŠ). That is configuration and testing work inside the build, not an afterthought, and it is the item most often left out of a quote.

Payments

15 of the 19 payment options that matter in Jordan are not shipped with Odoo, so they need a paid connector or a build. 4 ship in the box.

Shipping

7 of the 10 couriers used in Jordan have no Odoo connector. 3 do. Which ones you actually use changes the estimate more than the number of users does.

Gaps in the localization

Odoo's Jordan localization does not cover everything. The gaps are listed on the country page and each one is either a build or a bought module.

Payroll

Statutory payroll in Jordan has its own rules. Whether Odoo ships a payroll localization for this market decides if that is configuration or development.

Where Jordan starts from

What hire odoo developer has to satisfy in Jordan

The rules that decide how much of this is configuration and how much is a build. Everything below is from our Jordan register, checked against a primary source.

JoFotara, the National Electronic Invoicing System (ู†ุธุงู… ุงู„ููˆุชุฑุฉ ุงู„ูˆุทู†ูŠ) · Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), Ministry of Finance, delivered with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship

Phase 2 has been live since 1 April 2025 and covers B2B, B2C and B2G. As of August 2026 ISTD is still pulling smaller taxpayers in, and an invoice that did not go through JoFotara is not accepted as a deductible expense.

  • Invoices are submitted to ISTD through the JoFotara API and the returned status comes back into Odoo. Build it as a clearance flow, not a periodic report file.
  • UBL 2.1 XML as the invoice payload.
  • ISTD returns a QR code that must be printed on the document the customer receives.
  • Per-taxpayer API credentials from the JoFotara portal: Client ID, Secret Key and Activity Number.
  • Taxpayer type must be set on the company: unregistered, registered under standard sales tax, or registered under special sales tax.
  • Accounting Odoo's l10n_jo module ships a Jordanian chart of accounts, taxes, a tax report and fiscal positions, so the ledger structure is not a from-scratch build.
  • Accounting Tax audits usually happen within a year of filing, and an auditor may not audit a return more than four years after the filing date. Keep four years of supporting detail queryable in the system.
  • Accounting Returns are submitted through the tax authority's online portal rather than on paper.
  • Payroll Social Security Corporation contributions are levied on monthly salaries and certain allowances: 14.25% employer and 7.5% employee.
  • Payroll Odoo's Jordan payroll localization computes progressive income tax with exemptions for residents, non-residents, blind employees and dependants, social security on both sides, housing and transport allowances, leave logic, overtime and end of service benefit.
  • Payroll The 2026 SSC contribution ceiling is JOD 3,349 per month, and employers in high-risk occupations pay an extra 1% on top of the standard 14.25%.
Odoo covers in Jordan
  • Jordanian chart of accounts, taxes, tax report and fiscal positions.
  • JoFotara integration: compliant e-invoice generation, real-time submission for validation, and invoice status tracking inside Odoo.
  • JoFotara credential and taxpayer-type configuration on the company record (Activity Number, Secret Key, Client ID; unregistered, registered standard, or registered special sales tax).
  • Payroll: progressive income tax brackets with resident, non-resident, blind employee and dependant exemptions; employee and employer social security; housing and transport allowances; leave logic; overtime; end of service benefit.
  • Payroll journal entries into the ledger through l10n_jo_hr_payroll_account.
Needs a build here
  • Discount policy. JoFotara rejects negative quantities and negative prices, so any global discount, rebate or promotion has to be redesigned as a per-line percentage. This bites hardest on distribution and retail clients and it is a pricing and process change, not a config toggle.
  • Rounding tolerance between Odoo's 3 decimals and ISTD's 9. Agree the acceptable difference (under 0.001) with the client's auditor before go-live rather than after the first rejection.
  • eFAWATEERcom, CliQ and MEPS acquiring have no Odoo module. Collection and bank reconciliation against those rails is a build.
  • Aramex and any domestic last-mile courier need a paid third-party connector or a custom one. Nothing for Jordan ships in the box.
  • Check that the l10n_jo tax report actually maps onto the ISTD GST return form and period before promising a one-click filing pack.

5 stages, the same in every market: Role definition, Selection and trial, Onboarding, Steady state, Review and exit. The method does not change by country, so it is written up once rather than repeated here.

Questions we get asked

What is the difference between hiring a developer and buying a project?
A project buys a defined outcome at a fixed price and carries the delivery risk on our side. A developer buys capacity, and the prioritisation and the risk stay with you. If the work has a clear end state, buy the project. If it is a long backlog that keeps changing, buy the seat.
Can we interview the person first?
Yes, and you should, including a technical conversation with your own developer if you have one. We also recommend a short paid trial on a real backlog item, because interviews test different skills from the job.
Does Odoo have an official localization for Jordan?
Yes. Odoo ships 5 native items for Jordan, covering the basics of the chart of accounts and statutory setup. 6 areas are still outside that localization and get built or bought separately.
Is e-invoicing mandatory in Jordan?
Phase 2 has been live since 1 April 2025 and covers B2B, B2C and B2G. As of August 2026 ISTD is still pulling smaller taxpayers in, and an invoice that did not go through JoFotara is not accepted as a deductible expense. The Jordan e-invoicing page carries the full detail and the sources.
What VAT or sales tax does Odoo have to handle in Jordan?
General Sales Tax (GST) is the indirect tax. The standard rate is 16%.
Do you work with businesses in Amman and other parts of Jordan?
Yes. Hiring an Odoo developer runs remotely by default, and being based in one city inside Jordan does not change the plan or the price. Cities we cover for on-site visits: Amman, Zarqa, Irbid, Aqaba. We travel on-site for discovery workshops and go-live week when the engagement calls for it.
