HyperPay Odoo Integration

HyperPay is a common gateway choice for merchants selling in the Gulf, because one account covers international card brands alongside regional ones such as Mada, plus Apple Pay. In Odoo it is configured as a payment provider on the website and portal. Each payment brand is a separate entity in HyperPay, so a large part of the build is routing the right checkout to the right brand and making the result post cleanly into the ledger.
What syncs between HyperPay and Odoo
- โ Checkout sessions: Odoo to HyperPay, one-way. Odoo creates the checkout with the order amount, currency and reference.
- โ Payment results: HyperPay to Odoo, one-way, over the return URL and a server-to-server status call so the outcome is never trusted from the browser alone.
- โ Refunds: Odoo to HyperPay, one-way, with the gateway reference kept on the credit note for audit.
- โ Stored tokens: HyperPay to Odoo, one-way, for repeat and card-on-file payments where the customer has agreed to it.
- โ Order and customer reference: Odoo to HyperPay, one-way, so the gateway report can be matched back line by line.
How we implement it
- 1 Account and brand entities
Collect the access token and the entity for each payment brand you intend to accept. Brands are configured separately, not as one switch.
- 2 Odoo provider configuration
Add the provider, map each brand, and set the journal, supported currencies and the websites or companies it serves.
- 3 Server-side verification
Always confirm the payment status with a server-to-server call before the order is confirmed. Browser redirects can be replayed or abandoned.
- 4 Currency and rounding
Agree the minor-unit handling per currency and test amounts that expose rounding, not just round numbers.
- 5 Test and go-live
Run the gateway test set for each brand, including a decline and a partial refund, then repeat one low-value transaction on live credentials.

HyperPay and Odoo: common questions
Is Mada included or separate?
Mada is a card brand enabled on your HyperPay account, not a second integration. Once the brand is active, the Odoo side is configuration rather than new code.
Can we take Apple Pay from an Odoo website?
Yes, where it is enabled on your HyperPay account. It needs the domain verified for the wallet and served over HTTPS, which is standard on any live Odoo site.
How do we handle a customer closing the browser mid-payment?
The order stays in a pending state and a scheduled job queries the gateway for the final status. That is why the server-to-server check matters more than the redirect.
Does it support recurring charges?
Yes, where your account is enabled for stored credentials. Odoo keeps the token reference and the renewal charges against it, with a retry and dunning sequence on failure.
