Odoo Support and AMC in India
Support is worth paying for when it prevents the outage, not just when it answers the phone afterwards.
What changes the cost of Odoo support and maintenance in India
The delivery method is the same everywhere. What moves the number is what this market demands of the system, and how much of that Odoo already covers.
India runs GST e-invoicing (e-invoice under rule 48(4) of the CGST Rules), with the e-way bill as a separate mandate for movement of goods. That is configuration and testing work inside the build, not an afterthought, and it is the item most often left out of a quote.
8 of the 19 payment options that matter in India are not shipped with Odoo, so they need a paid connector or a build. 11 ship in the box.
10 of the 14 couriers used in India have no Odoo connector. 4 do. Which ones you actually use changes the estimate more than the number of users does.
Odoo's India localization does not cover everything. The gaps are listed on the country page and each one is either a build or a bought module.
Statutory payroll in India has its own rules. Whether Odoo ships a payroll localization for this market decides if that is configuration or development.

Where India starts from
Support in India covers 6 native localization modules plus 6 custom pieces, and the custom side is usually where the support hours actually go.
Where we deliver in India
Support runs on response time, not proximity. It reaches Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad and Kolkata, and businesses across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and West Bengal, on the same SLA as everywhere else we cover in India.
What odoo support & maintenance has to satisfy in India
The rules that decide how much of this is configuration and how much is a build. Everything below is from our India register, checked against a primary source.
Fully live and stable. The threshold has sat at INR 50 million aggregate annual turnover since 1 August 2023 and has not moved since.
- Clearance model. The invoice JSON is sent to an Invoice Registration Portal, which validates it and returns an Invoice Reference Number and a digitally signed QR code. The document is not a valid tax invoice without them.
- The IRN and the signed QR code must be carried on the invoice issued to the buyer.
- Registration with an IRP and API credentials, normally obtained through a GST Suvidha Provider. Odoo's own integration uses BVM IT Consulting Services India as the GSP.
- A separate e-way bill for movement of goods, generated against the NIC e-way bill portal, with its own document and validity rules.
- A reporting window. Invoices, credit notes and debit notes older than 30 days are rejected by the IRP for larger taxpayers, so back-dated posting has to be blocked inside the ERP rather than discovered at submission.
- Tax GST is the indirect tax. Since 22 September 2025 the structure is essentially two slabs, 5% and 18%, with 18% as the standard rate. The 12% and 28% slabs were removed and a 40% demerit rate now applies to a defined list of luxury and sin supplies.
- Tax The change was given effect by notifications 9/2025 to 17/2025 Central Tax (Rate) and the matching Integrated Tax (Rate) notifications, all dated 17 September 2025 and effective 22 September 2025. Compensation cess on motor vehicles and caffeinated beverages was reduced to nil at the same time.
- Tax Filing runs on GSTR-1 for outward supplies and GSTR-3B to discharge the liability, with GSTR-2B as the input credit statement. Odoo's Indian accounting reports module produces GSTR-1, GSTR-2B and GSTR-3B.
- Tax From 1 October 2025 any GST return whose due date is more than three years old is permanently barred from filing. It covers GSTR-1, GSTR-1A, GSTR-3B, GSTR-4 through GSTR-8 and GSTR-9/9C, under the Finance Act 2023 and notification 28/2023 Central Tax. Old open periods can no longer be cleaned up after go-live.
- Tax TCS on sale of goods under section 206C(1H) was omitted with effect from 1 April 2025. TDS on purchase of goods under section 194Q, at 0.1%, still applies on the buyer side. An ERP still configured to collect 206C(1H) is now producing wrong documents.
- Tax The equalisation levy on online advertising and digital advertising space was abolished with effect from 1 April 2025.
- Accounting Every company registered under the Companies Act 2013 must keep its books in accounting software that records an audit trail and edit log for every transaction, under rule 3(1) of the Companies (Accounts) Rules 2014, effective from 1 April 2023. It covers small companies, one person companies, dormant companies, Section 8 not-for-profits and foreign companies. LLPs, partnerships and proprietorships are outside it.
- Indian chart of accounts and the GST tax structure
- GSTR-1, GSTR-2B and GSTR-3B reporting
- E-invoicing against the NIC IRP: IRN and QR generation, submission, and cancellation handling
- E-way bill generation against the NIC portal from sales and purchase documents, and from receipts and delivery orders in Inventory
- GSTIN verification of business partners
- TDS and TCS threshold alerts with account suggestions
- GSP credentials and commercials. The e-invoicing and e-way bill integrations run through a GST Suvidha Provider, currently BVM IT Consulting Services India, so credential setup and the GSP relationship are a project task, not a config switch.
- The 30-day IRN reporting bar. Odoo will let you post a back-dated invoice that the IRP then refuses. Add the control, or you find out at submission.
- Annual returns. The localization documents GSTR-1, GSTR-2B and GSTR-3B. GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C are not among them.
- High-volume GSTR-2B matching and reconciliation against the Invoice Management System. Workable in Odoo at small scale, usually an add-on or an external tool above that.
- The rule 11(g) audit trail position. Odoo logs changes, but what the statutory auditor will accept as evidence of an always-on, untampered trail has to be agreed and demonstrated before go-live. This is the question Indian finance directors ask first.

How we run the work
5 stages, the same in every market: Onboarding and baseline, Monitoring and alerting, Ticket handling, Preventive maintenance, Reporting and review. The method does not change by country, so it is written up once rather than repeated here.
The integrations this market usually needs
Badged by what it takes in Odoo. Anything not marked In Odoo is a paid connector or a build, and that is the part quotes usually miss.
Questions we get asked
- What do the response tiers actually mean?
- They are the time to a human working the ticket, not the time to a fix. A two-hour tier means someone is on it within two hours of it being raised. Time to resolution depends on what broke, and we report both so the difference stays visible.
- Do you support Odoo instances you did not build?
- Yes, after an onboarding review. We need to see the custom modules, the integrations and the hosting before we commit to a response tier, because promising two hours on a system nobody has read is not a promise worth much.
- Does Odoo have an official localization for India?
- Yes. Odoo ships 6 native items for India, covering the basics of the chart of accounts and statutory setup. 6 areas are still outside that localization and get built or bought separately.
- Is e-invoicing mandatory in India?
- Fully live and stable. The threshold has sat at INR 50 million aggregate annual turnover since 1 August 2023 and has not moved since. The India e-invoicing page carries the full detail and the sources.
- What VAT or sales tax does Odoo have to handle in India?
- GST is the indirect tax. Since 22 September 2025 the structure is essentially two slabs, 5% and 18%, with 18% as the standard rate. The 12% and 28% slabs were removed and a 40% demerit rate now applies to a defined list of luxury and sin supplies.
- Do you work with businesses in Mumbai and other parts of India?
- Yes. Odoo support and maintenance runs remotely by default, and being based in one city inside India does not change the plan or the price. Cities we cover for on-site visits: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata. Regions we cover: Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal. We travel on-site for discovery workshops and go-live week when the engagement calls for it.
