What an Odoo implementation costs in Canada

The published starting points first, then the honest part: what actually moves the number in this market, taken from our own Canada localization notes rather than a general answer about ERP projects.

The starting points we publish

The same figures as our pricing page, and they are starting points rather than quotes. Scope decides the number: the modules you switch on, the users you train, the systems Odoo has to talk to, and how much of the Canada list further down is configuration rather than a build.

Starter per project

From $4,900

Single-module implementations for SMBs.

  • Up to 2 modules
  • 10 users
  • Discovery + config + training
  • 4 weeks
  • 1 month hypercare
Growth per project

From $14,900

Multi-module roll-outs with customization.

  • Up to 6 modules
  • 50 users
  • Custom modules + reports
  • 8 weeks
  • 3 months hypercare
Enterprise scope-based

Custom

Multi-company, multi-country, full-stack.

  • Unlimited modules
  • Unlimited users
  • Custom architecture
  • Phased rollout
  • SLA-backed support

Read the tiers as scope brackets, not as country prices. Nothing on this page charges more for Canada because it is Canada. What changes between markets is how much of the work below is a build, and that is what decides where you land inside a bracket, or outside it.

Timelines we publish: Single-module Starter projects run 3-4 weeks. Multi-module Growth projects run 8-12 weeks. Enterprise multi-country rollouts run 4-9 months with phased go-lives.

Fixed price or time and materials: Yes. For well-scoped implementations we deliver fixed-price with milestones. For discovery-phase work or ongoing customization we offer transparent T&M.

What drives the number in Canada

Everything below comes from our own Canada research file. The counts are the short version: how many things a rollout here has to reach, and what each one takes to reach from Odoo.

The e-invoicing line

No national e-invoicing scheme. Federal B2G e-invoicing over Peppol using UBL, plus a Quebec sector fiscalisation regime (WEB-SRM)

Authority: No Peppol Authority exists for Canada. The Canada Revenue Agency sets invoice and record-keeping rules; Revenu Quebec runs the Quebec sales recording regime

In a market with a live scheme this is the biggest single variable on a quote. What follows is what our Canada notes actually say, and what each of those things costs to build and test.

Exchange through a network

Documents move through a network or an intermediary rather than a portal you log into, so there is a party to contract, onboard and test with before any Odoo work is proven end to end. Book calendar time for that, not only build time.

Federal government e-invoices are exchanged in UBL format, over the Peppol network, which was introduced in Canada in 2018.

A specified format

The format is fixed down to field level, so the work is a mapping sheet rather than a template edit. Every field is a decision about where that data lives in Odoo today and who keeps it right afterwards.

Federal government e-invoices are exchanged in UBL format, over the Peppol network, which was introduced in Canada in 2018.

An archiving rule

Documents have to be produced again years later, in a form an auditor accepts. That is a hosting, backup and access decision taken at design time, not a setting switched on at the end.

Records supporting a GST/HST position must be archived for 6 years from the end of the fiscal year, and the system must preserve confidentiality, integrity and availability. Archiving abroad is allowed with conditions.

What pushes a quote in Canada up

Each item is a real work package with its own tests and its own handover. The quoted lines are printed from our Canada file as checked, not summarised.

6 payment rails have no Odoo connector we would put in production

Each one is an API build with its own tests: authorization, capture, refund and a deliberate failure in sandbox, repeated once in production with a small live amount, then settlement mapped to the ledger so the bank reconciliation clears. Price them one at a time. This is where a checkout budget doubles quietly.

  • Interac e-Transfer. Interac e-Transfer moves money between Canadian bank accounts using an email address or mobile number, and Canadian businesses use it for both invoices and customer payments. It has no Odoo provider, so most merchants take it as an offline method against Odoo's built in Wire Transfer and reconcile by hand.
  • Interac Direct (via Konek). Interac's newer card free option lets a shopper pay online straight from their bank account through the Konek platform. It is worth naming because it is the first real pay by bank checkout button in Canada and no Odoo connector exists for it yet.
  • Helcim. Helcim is based in Calgary and sells card processing, online invoicing, payment links and recurring billing to Canadian and US small businesses, with faster deposits via Interac e-Transfer. It suits smaller Odoo buyers who want a Canadian counterparty rather than a global platform.
  • Affirm (formerly PayBright). PayBright, the Canadian buy now pay later brand, is now Affirm, and Affirm runs a Canadian site in English and French. If a Canadian shopper expects instalments at checkout, this is the name they know.

4 payment rails need a paid connector

The connector licence sits outside our fee and is quoted separately by whoever sells it. Our side is configuration, the four-test cycle per provider, and the reconciliation mapping. Budget for keeping each one current across Odoo upgrades, because a connector that stops at your next version is a cost you meet later.

4 carriers have no Odoo connector

Rating, label printing, tracking and cash on delivery reconciliation are four separate pieces of work with four separate failure modes, and we quote them separately. Carrier test credentials rarely carry your negotiated rates, so the account and the rate card get validated before the connector is written.

  • Loomis Express. Loomis Express is a Canadian courier owned by TFI International, offering ground through to next day 9AM delivery plus CollectShip returns and export to over 220 countries. No Odoo connector exists, so integration is a build against its API.
  • Stallion Express. Stallion Express resells Canada Post, Purolator, USPS, UPS, FedEx, UniUni, ICS Courier, Fleet Optics, PostNL and APC to Canadian online sellers, with pickups in major Canadian cities. There is no Odoo connector, so it is an API build, and the Stallion account is a required dependency.
  • Chit Chats. Chit Chats is built for Canadian sellers shipping into the United States and internationally, including delivered duty paid, customs clearance and CUSMA certification. It publishes API documentation and store integrations but has no Odoo connector.
  • Intelcom / Dragonfly. Close to 500,000 parcels a day across Canada and Amazon's main Canadian last-mile partner. Trades as Dragonfly outside Quebec and Intelcom within it. No native Odoo connector.

6 carriers sit behind a paid connector

Cheaper than a build and not free. The licence is quoted separately, and our work is the account setup, the rate check against your contract, and the label and tracking test on real shipments.

Payroll is built here, not switched on

No payroll localization module appears in our Canada module list, so every contribution, ceiling, deduction and statutory file becomes a salary rule, a bank file or a report that we write and test. Add at least one parallel run against your current system, reconciled line by line, before anyone switches.

  • Payroll, all of it. Canada does not appear in Odoo 19's list of supported payroll localizations, so CPP and the second additional CPP tier, EI, federal and provincial tax tables, T4 and T4A slips and the ROE need a third-party app from the Odoo apps store or a custom build.
+

3 items Odoo does not cover for Canada

This is the honest part of a quote. Each line below is scoped, priced and agreed as a build before the project starts, rather than discovered halfway through and raised as a change request.

  • GIFI. The Canadian localisation documentation does not mention GIFI codes, so the mapping from your chart of accounts to schedules 100 and 125 is your job.
  • Interac. No Odoo payment provider ships for Interac Debit or Interac e-Transfer, so account-to-account collection and reconciliation is a build.
  • Quebec WEB-SRM. No Odoo module is documented for the certified sales recording system, so a Quebec restaurant or bar POS deployment needs a certified integration built and attested.

13 statutory items to configure, test and hand over

Tax, accounting and payroll items on our own Canada list. Each one becomes a configuration, a test document and a number your accountant checks independently before sign-off. Individually cheap, collectively the reason a localization is a work package rather than a setting.

24 open questions in our own Canada notes

Where our research did not reach a primary source, we mark it open rather than pricing a guess. Those questions get closed in discovery against your entity, your documents and your advisor, which is exactly why a fixed price comes after discovery and not before it.

What holds a quote in Canada down

The other half of an honest answer. Where Odoo already covers this market, the work is configuration and proof, and that is the cheapest kind of day on any project.

3 official Odoo modules cover part of this market

Configuration and testing, not development. Anything on this list is install, configure and verify work that sits inside the tier price rather than beside it.

What you get without a build

Printed as checked. Where a requirement is met by something below, the work is proving it against your documents, not writing it.

  • Canadian chart of accounts with the standard account groups (Receivable, Payable, Equity, Assets, Liability, Income, Expenses).
  • Sales and purchase taxes with provincial variation, plus 13 provincial and territorial fiscal positions (AB, BC, MB, NB, NL, NS, NT, NU, ON, PE, QC, SK, YT) and an International one, so the right GST/HST/PST/QST combination is applied by customer province.
  • Cheque printing in three North American pre-printed layouts: check on top (Quicken/QuickBooks standard), check in the middle (Peachtree standard), check on the bottom (ADP standard).
  • CPA005 EFT file generation for electronic funds transfer payments.
  • Balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statement reports via l10n_ca_reports.

6 payment providers ship with Odoo

Configured before anyone buys anything. Starting from what already ships is the cheapest checkout you can have, and it keeps the number of things that break after an upgrade down.

4 carriers ship with Odoo

Rating, labels and tracking without a connector purchase or an API build. If your volume can move to one of these, that is a real saving on build and on support.

No live authority integration to build here, on this evidence

Where documents are exchanged or filed rather than cleared in the moment, e-invoicing is a format and archive job instead of a live integration, which is the cheaper end of this work. It also moves. Schemes get mandated with lead time, so we get the invoice data right now rather than retrofitting it under a deadline later.

  • Nothing structured for ordinary domestic B2B trade: no XML, no clearance, no real-time reporting, no QR code, no accredited intermediary.
  • Canada has no B2B or B2C e-invoicing mandate as of 2026-08-22, and a PDF invoice is still legally fine. E-invoicing only bites in federal procurement and in two Quebec sectors.

Checked Localization notes quoted on this page checked on 22 August 2026.

Prices on this page are indicative starting points for a scope, not an offer, and they do not include any third-party licence, connector or subscription you buy directly. Rules, formats and provider coverage change, so we confirm scope against the rules in force at build time before a fixed price is signed. See pricing and our Odoo localization service.

What gets underestimated on a budget for Canada

Not the build. Almost never the build. In Canada the lines that turn a good number into a bad one are the ones above: whichever of them is a build rather than configuration, plus your own team's hours on master data and sign-off. Those are cheap to plan and expensive to discover.

  1. 1 Your teamโ€™s hours, not ours. The days we quote are ours. The days that decide the outcome are yours: cleaning master data, agreeing the chart of accounts, testing, and deciding. Name one person who can decide, and protect their calendar.
  2. 2 Data migration is an agreement problem. Opening balances, open invoices, stock counts and the item master. Pulling the data is the easy half. Agreeing which version of it is true takes longer, because the old system carries duplicates and wrong costs that nobody has owned for years.

The full list of what gets underestimated, and what we need to quote it — the same in every market, so it is written up once.
