Odoo payment gateways in Australia

Every payment method and gateway that matters in Australia, with what each one takes to reach Odoo: shipped with the product, a community module, a paid connector, or a build.

Every payment rail we check for a rollout in Australia

18 entries, grouped by what each one costs you to reach from Odoo. The badge is the whole commercial question: shipped with the product, a community module, a paid connector, or a build.

In Odoo

4 of 18

Ships with Odoo. Configuration, not development.

Stripe global gateway
In Odoo

Stripe lists Australia as a supported country for businesses, so an Australian company can open an account directly. Odoo 19 ships the Stripe connector and Stripe is the only provider Odoo lists as supporting express checkout, which is how Apple Pay and Google Pay appear on the cart.

PayPal global gateway
In Odoo

PayPal is available in over 200 countries and regions and remains a familiar second button for Australian shoppers. Odoo 19 ships it natively with no subscription fee, which suits lower volume stores.

Apple Pay and Google Pay mobile wallet
In Odoo

Australian wallet use is high and eftpos itself now supports mobile wallets with Merchant Choice Routing extended to mobile transactions. In Odoo 19 these reach the cart through the native Stripe connector, which is the only provider Odoo lists for express checkout.

Adyen global gateway
In Odoo

Adyen is a Dutch provider that ships natively with Odoo 19 and is one of the two named payment partners Zip lists for merchants. Odoo's own documentation warns it is aimed at enterprise customers and may require minimum transaction counts and volumes.

Community module

1 of 18

A community module exists. Install, test, and budget for keeping it current across upgrades.

BECS Direct Entry instant bank transfer
Community module

Direct Entry, run through the Bulk Electronic Clearing System, carries Australian direct credits such as payroll and supplier payments and direct debits collected from customers, up to 100 million dollars per payment. A free community Odoo 19 module for GoCardless lists BECS among its supported schemes.

Paid connector

4 of 18

A paid connector covers this. Licence cost sits outside our fee and is quoted separately.

eftpos domestic card scheme
Paid connector

eftpos is Australia's own debit card network, running on over 70 million debit cards, and it now supports online payments through EMV 3DS authentication and tokenisation. Merchant Choice Routing means an Australian merchant can route eftpos transactions themselves, which is a live cost conversation for any Odoo store.

Tyro local gateway
Paid connector

Tyro is widely used by Australian hospitality and retail merchants for card acceptance. An Odoo 19 Tyro payment connector is sold on the Odoo apps store, so this is a purchase rather than a build.

Afterpay BNPL
Paid connector

Afterpay operates in Australia under Australian Credit Licence 527911 and splits a purchase into four interest free instalments over six weeks, charging the merchant a fee per transaction. Australian shoppers expect to see it, and Odoo 19 connectors for it are sold on the apps store.

Zip (Zip Pay and Zip Money) BNPL
Paid connector

Zip offers Zip Pay for everyday purchases and Zip Money for larger baskets with credit limits up to 50,000 dollars, and it takes on the customer credit and fraud risk. Usefully for Odoo, Zip can be switched on through Stripe or Adyen as a payment partner, both of which ship natively with Odoo 19.

Custom build

9 of 18

No connector we would put in production. This is scoped, priced and built.

BPAY instant bank transfer
Custom build

BPAY is how Australian customers pay bills from their online banking using a biller code and a Customer Reference Number, and over 25 financial institutions support it. For an Odoo buyer this means invoices need a CRN printed on them and a reconciliation process, which is a real configuration job.

PayID (New Payments Platform / Osko) instant bank transfer
Custom build

A PayID is a mobile number, email address, ABN or organisation identifier linked to a bank account, offered by over 100 Australian financial institutions, and the payer sees the account holder name before confirming. Australian businesses use it to get paid within minutes instead of waiting on a batch file.

PayTo instant bank transfer
Custom build

PayTo lets a customer authorise a business to take payments from their bank account under an agreement they manage in their own online banking, and Amazon Australia already offers it at checkout. It is the modern replacement for direct debit forms and matters for any Odoo subscription or recurring billing setup.

Airwallex local gateway
Custom build

Airwallex sells checkout, payment links and ecommerce plugins to Australian businesses, supports over 160 local payment methods and lets you hold local currency accounts including AUD. It suits Australian Odoo sellers who ship overseas and want to settle in the buyer's currency.

Fat Zebra and SecurePay local gateway
Custom build

SecurePay is now wholly owned by Fat Zebra, which serves over 100,000 Australian merchants, and it accepts Visa, Mastercard, eftpos and American Express plus Apple Pay and Google Pay with 3DS2 and network tokenisation. This ownership change matters because older SecurePay documentation and connectors point at the previous owner.

Pin Payments local gateway
Custom build

Pin Payments is based in Melbourne and is available only to businesses in Australia and New Zealand, combining gateway, processing and acquiring in one account. It accepts Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, Discover, Diners Club, eftpos, Apple Pay and Google Pay.

eWAY local gateway
Custom build

eWAY is an Australian online payment gateway operating under ABN 32 086 209 403 and now part of Global Payments, also serving New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau. Many established Australian ecommerce businesses are already on it and will ask whether Odoo can keep it.

Windcave local gateway
Custom build

Windcave, formerly Payment Express, runs offices in Melbourne and Sydney as well as Auckland and Christchurch, covering online, in store and unattended payments. It is a common choice for Australian retailers who need the same provider across web and terminal.

Zeller local gateway
Custom build

Zeller is an Australian company operating under AFSL 534281, offering EFTPOS terminals, a virtual terminal, payment links, invoicing and business transaction accounts with no monthly fees or lock in contracts. It publishes a developer suite with APIs and SDKs, which is what an Odoo integration would target.

Checked Localization notes on this page checked on 22 August 2026.

Rates, formats, thresholds and submission windows change. We configure against the rules in force at build time and confirm every figure with your accountant or tax advisor before sign-off. If a rule moves after go-live, it is a support ticket, not a rebuild. Read more on our Odoo localization service.

How we build payments for Australia

The delivery method behind the list above. The same four steps on a 10-user rollout and on a multi-company programme, with the depth scaled to the scope.

  1. 1 Start from what buyers already carry. We pick the smallest set of providers that covers the methods your customers use, because every extra gateway is another reconciliation and another support surface.
  2. 2 Shipped providers first. Anything Odoo already carries is configured before anyone buys a connector. Paid connectors and custom work are priced up front, not discovered mid-project.
  3. 3 Four tests per provider. Authorization, capture, refund and a deliberate failure, run in sandbox, then repeated once in production with a small live amount.
  4. 4 Settlement is mapped to the ledger. Payouts, fees and chargebacks post to accounts your accountant agreed, so the bank reconciliation clears instead of leaving a suspense balance.

What we need from you to quote it

Bring these to the first call and you get a scoped, priced payments plan for Australia instead of a range.

  • โœ“ Your current gateway contracts and the fee schedule on each.
  • โœ“ A month of settlement reports, so the ledger mapping can be tested against real payouts.
  • โœ“ The currencies you collect in, and the entity that receives each payout.

Send us the list above with your answers against it. We come back with what is configuration, what is a connector, and what is a build, priced before the project starts.
