Odoo Implementation Services in Bangladesh

An Odoo implementation is a decision project with software attached. We run the decisions first, then build once.

What changes the cost of an Odoo implementation in Bangladesh

The delivery method is the same everywhere. What moves the number is what this market demands of the system, and how much of that Odoo already covers.

E-invoicing

Bangladesh has no e-invoicing mandate to clear today. That lowers the build cost now, and it makes the invoicing design worth getting right anyway, because every market on this list that has since mandated one gave businesses months rather than years to comply.

Payments

13 of the 16 payment options that matter in Bangladesh are not shipped with Odoo, so they need a paid connector or a build. 3 ship in the box.

Shipping

9 of the 12 couriers used in Bangladesh have no Odoo connector. 3 do. Which ones you actually use changes the estimate more than the number of users does.

Gaps in the localization

Odoo's Bangladesh localization does not cover everything. The gaps are listed on the country page and each one is either a build or a bought module.

Payroll

Statutory payroll in Bangladesh has its own rules. Whether Odoo ships a payroll localization for this market decides if that is configuration or development.

Where Bangladesh starts from

Bangladesh has 3 native Odoo localization items, so this implementation starts from a working chart of accounts and statutory basics rather than a blank one. 6 further items are not covered by Odoo and go into the build plan on day one.

Where we deliver in Bangladesh

An implementation is scoped the same way whether the head office is in Dhaka or Khulna: one discovery workshop, one rollout plan, delivered remotely with on-site time kept for go-live week. That covers Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Gazipur, Narayanganj and Khulna.

What odoo implementation has to satisfy in Bangladesh

The rules that decide how much of this is configuration and how much is a build. Everything below is from our Bangladesh register, checked against a primary source.

No national e-invoicing scheme · National Board of Revenue (NBR), เฆœเฆพเฆคเง€เฆฏเฆผ เฆฐเฆพเฆœเฆธเงเฆฌ เฆฌเง‹เฆฐเงเฆก

As of 22 August 2026 Bangladesh has no clearance or reporting e-invoicing mandate. A VAT-registered seller issues a Mushak 6.3 challan on paper or from its own software, and the only real-time reporting to NBR runs through EFD/SDC hardware in sectors NBR has named one by one.

  • Mushak 6.3 challan showing buyer and seller details, description, quantity, unit price, total value and VAT.
  • No XML or JSON schema, no digital signature or seal, no clearance step, no accredited intermediary, no NBR-assigned document ID.
  • EFD/SDC devices in mandated sectors push point-of-sale data to NBR. This is device-level reporting, not ERP-to-authority integration, so an Odoo build does not replace the device.
  • Mushak 9.1 VAT return is filed through the NBR VAT online portal. PwC states manual return filing is completely dispensed with from 1 July 2026.
  • An NBR reform panel recommended e-invoicing for VAT in February 2025. Nothing has been enacted, so treat any e-invoicing roadmap as unfunded planning.
  • Tax The standard VAT rate is 15%. Reduced rates of 1.5%, 2%, 2.4%, 4.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% apply to specified goods and services under the Second Schedule of the VAT and SD Act 2012.
  • Tax Supplementary Duty applies to Third Schedule goods and services from 10% to 67%, and in certain cases up to 500%. It is payable only at the first stage of supply, which means the ERP has to model it separately from VAT rather than as another tax line on every sale.
  • Tax The VAT return is Mushak 9.1, filed monthly and due within 15 days of the end of the tax period. Government, semi-government and autonomous bodies, banks, insurers and anyone filing a nil return get up to 20 days.
  • Tax Manual VAT return filing is completely dispensed with from 1 July 2026. Returns go through the NBR VAT online portal.
  • Tax VAT deducted at source applies. Specified withholding entities deduct VAT on certain service procurements at 2% to 15% depending on the service. This has to be posted against the supplier bill, not netted off later.
  • Tax Income tax withholding on local payments hits most supplier bills: 5% on manufacturing, process, conversion, construction and engineering work. Withholding on supplies of goods is not a single rate, it runs from 0.5% to 10% depending on the goods, so it has to be mapped per product category.
  • Accounting Companies whose securities trade in a public market, and other large publicly accountable entities, must use IFRS as adopted in Bangladesh, issued locally as Bangladesh Financial Reporting Standards (BFRS). The Financial Reporting Act 2015 gives the Financial Reporting Council the power to set and issue those standards in conformity with IASB standards.

How we run the work

5 stages, the same in every market: Discovery and process mapping, Solution design and gap resolution, Configuration and prototype, Data migration and reconciliation, Training, UAT and cutover. The method does not change by country, so it is written up once rather than repeated here.

Questions we get asked

How long does an Odoo implementation take?
Single-module projects run three to four weeks. Multi-module rollouts run eight to twelve weeks. Multi-country and multi-company programmes run four to nine months with phased go-lives. The variable is almost never the configuration. It is how quickly decisions get made and how clean the legacy data is.
Can we start with one module and add more later?
Yes, and for most teams it is the better call. Starting narrow gets you a live system with real numbers in it, and the second phase is scoped by people who now know the software. The one thing to settle early is the chart of accounts, because changing it after the ledger has entries in it is painful.
Does Odoo have an official localization for Bangladesh?
Yes. Odoo ships 3 native items for Bangladesh, covering the basics of the chart of accounts and statutory setup. 6 areas are still outside that localization and get built or bought separately.
Is e-invoicing mandatory in Bangladesh?
As of 22 August 2026 Bangladesh has no clearance or reporting e-invoicing mandate. A VAT-registered seller issues a Mushak 6.3 challan on paper or from its own software, and the only real-time reporting to NBR runs through EFD/SDC hardware in sectors NBR has named one by one. The Bangladesh e-invoicing page carries the full detail and the sources.
What VAT or sales tax does Odoo have to handle in Bangladesh?
The standard VAT rate is 15%. Reduced rates of 1.5%, 2%, 2.4%, 4.5%, 5%, 7.5% and 10% apply to specified goods and services under the Second Schedule of the VAT and SD Act 2012.
Do you work with businesses in Dhaka and other parts of Bangladesh?
Yes. An Odoo implementation runs remotely by default, and being based in one city inside Bangladesh does not change the plan or the price. Cities we cover for on-site visits: Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Gazipur, Narayanganj, Khulna. We travel on-site for discovery workshops and go-live week when the engagement calls for it.
